Work and Travel
The Work and Travel program was designed by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs to allow young students from different countries to travel to the United States and gain personal, cultural, and work experience during their summer break.
The main goal is to promote cultural exchange by allowing young students to explore the country and its people, improve their English skills, gain international work experience, acquire new knowledge, and take part in unique experiences they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.

Work and Travel
Independent
The Work and Travel Independent program is a variation of the Work and Travel program that offers participants the opportunity to experience cultural and work immersion in another country in a more flexible and independent way.
Unlike the traditional Work and Travel program, where participants are usually placed in jobs through exchange agencies, the Work and Travel Independent program gives participants the freedom to find and secure their own job opportunities, often with employers they have worked with in a previous Work and Travel experience.
